Harpreet Kaur is a business and human rights expert with over 15 years of experience in management and research in the development sector.
Harpreet currently leads a regional project aimed at Promoting Responsible Business Practices through Regional Partnerships in Asia at the UNDP’s Regional Bureau of Asia and the Pacific.
Prior to this, she led the Genpact Centre for Women’s Leadership at Ashoka University and steered the agenda on ‘Women, Workplace & Rights’ where she designed cutting-edge programs that enabled women to lead with equality and dignity.
Over the years, Harpreet has highlighted corporates’ human rights impacts through her research, writing and publishing. She brings a wealth of first-hand knowledge, strategic and implementation experience on business and human rights in Asia, and exceptional skills to bring varied stakeholders together to advocate collective action for greater impact.
She has previously held senior leadership and management positions at Ashoka University, Business & Human Rights Resource Centre, Conciliation Resources, BBC Media Action and consulted with various international organizations.
Harpreet has presented at multiple national, regional and international forums and published both in national & international media. Harpreet has a PhD in Anthropology from University of Delhi, India and a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Rights Law, National Law School, Karnataka, India. She is a certified SA 8000 Auditor.
