President Trump endured fierce criticism from the media after he urged the public to consider taking the anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine to ward off the novel coronavirus COVID-19.

The drug is unproven, although some studies have shown it may have an effect on the disease.

Ms Panahi said the media’s response to President Trump’s suggestion shows it is “demented with Trump hatred” even during the depths of a global health emergency.
