Williams, 29, was crowned in April has been barred from the upcoming Ms America pageant. In a video posted to Facebook after she received the news, Williams said that if she had “more liberal views [and] less conservative views, this wouldn’t be an issue.”
According to the Miss America Pageant, Williams (and other contestants) may post their own political views on personal pages, but that the “Ms Nevada Facebook Page should be devoid of political content.”
According to Susan Jeske, the first winner of Ms. America in 1997 and now the CEO, said that Williams violated the agreement to keep the two separate by posting both political and pageant material on her personal page.
